SupplySafe

Terms of service

Draft of 11 October 2026. Plain English; where this document and the law differ, the law applies.

These terms are the agreement between you (and the company you act for) and SupplySafe for using app.supplysafe.com.au and everything it does. Creating an account means you agree to them. They are written to be read, not to trap anyone; if something is unclear, ask us at admin@supplysafe.com.au.

What SupplySafe is

SupplySafe keeps Safety Data Sheets (SDS) current and on record. A manufacturer or supplier keeps its SDS library and publishes SDS; a workshop keeps a register of the chemicals it holds, with the current SDS for each, and can show that register on a public QR page. SupplySafe staff check SDS before they are published to the shared catalogue.

SupplySafe is a records service. It does not write, classify or certify SDS, does not give chemical, safety or legal advice, and is not an emergency service. In a chemical emergency call 000 or the Poisons Information Centre on 13 11 26, and follow the SDS.

Your account and your company

  • You must be at least 18 and acting for a business. Give true details and keep them current.
  • Your account is yours alone: keep your password private and turn on two-step verification (owners and admins must). Tell us at once if you think someone else has used it. Settings → Account lets you sign out everywhere.
  • The person who creates a company is its first Owner and is responsible for who else is invited, what they can do, and what the company publishes. Owners can make other admins owners.
  • You are responsible for everything done under your account and, as an owner or admin, for your team’s use of the company’s account.

Your SDS and other content

  • Your company keeps ownership of everything it uploads. You give SupplySafe the licence it needs to store, process, display and deliver that content to do what the service does, including showing published SDS to other SupplySafe users and the public.
  • Upload only SDS and product information you have the right to share. An SDS is a safety document meant to be passed on, but you must not upload anything that is confidential, defamatory, unlawful or not yours to give.
  • Publishing makes an SDS and its product details available to every SupplySafe user and, through QR pages, the public. SupplySafe staff check an SDS before it is published and may decline, correct dates and revision, or ask the company. A company can hide a published SDS from its public list; workshops that already hold it keep access, because they rely on it.
  • SupplySafe never tells a manufacturer or supplier which workshops hold its products, or how many. Register contents are the workshop’s own.
  • You are responsible for the accuracy and currency of what you publish. SupplySafe’s checks are for completeness and dates, not a review of the chemistry or the law, and do not make SupplySafe the author or certifier of an SDS.

Acceptable use

Do not:

  • try to get at another company’s data, probe or load-test the service, or get around rate limits, the bot check or two-step verification;
  • upload malware or anything that is not an SDS or product information;
  • scrape the catalogue or public pages at volume, or resell SupplySafe data;
  • use SupplySafe for anything unlawful, or let someone use your account who should not.

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, after warning where that is reasonable.

Privacy

Our Privacy policy says what personal information we hold, where it lives (Australia unless stated), who sees it and how to get it or delete it. It is part of these terms.

Availability and changes

  • We aim to keep SupplySafe available and watch it around the clock, but we do not promise it will never be down. Keep your own copy of any SDS your workplace must be able to produce; the installed app can keep your register’s SDS on your device for reading without a signal.
  • We may change or add features, and will tell you about changes that matter. We will give reasonable notice before withdrawing a feature or the service.
  • Prices, if we introduce them, will be published before they apply to you, and you can close your account before they do.

Ending this agreement

  • You can delete your account at any time (Settings → Account; it takes effect after 30 days). A company’s owner can ask us to close the company and delete its data by email; we will confirm what will be deleted and what the law requires us to keep (see the Privacy policy on SDS retention).
  • We can end the agreement for a serious or repeated breach of these terms, or if the service is withdrawn, with notice.
  • Sections about content licence for already-published SDS, liability and governing law survive.

Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded. Where the law allows, SupplySafe is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our liability for anything else is limited to re-supplying the service or the amount you paid us for it in the previous 12 months (nothing, while the service is free). SupplySafe is not liable for the content of an SDS, which is the responsibility of the company that issued it, or for decisions made in reliance on an SDS.

You agree to cover SupplySafe for claims caused by content you uploaded without the right to, or by a breach of these terms by you or your team.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of Victoria, Australia, and disputes go to the courts of Victoria. We will always try to sort things out by email first.
